This little lady, now 18 months, always manages to captivate me. Her blue eyes are just beautiful and I LOVE to photograph her. We had a little fun with some pears during this session and she kept us all hopping and laughing the entire time. I tell ya, she is one lucky little girl because not only does she have the most loving and adoring parents raising her, she has some really wonderful grandparents helping out. I was honored to be asked again to capture some special pictures for them for this holiday season. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and thank you for sharing sweet Miss Y with me again. {Summer Camp}

When I was a kid, summer camp was never an affordable option for my family. My sister and I spent many summer days in the hot heat of the San Juaquin Valley, playing down the street with neighbors all day until dark. If we were lucky, we would be invited to take a swim over at a friends house who had a swimming pool or we would go to the community pool. Most of the time we just turned on the sprinklers. I secretly dreamed up getting to go to an all week summer camp. The only hint I got of what this may be like was in some movies. Kids staying in cabins with counselors, having campfires, and singing cum bah yah etc. Corny as it looked and sounded, I wanted to go. I wanted to eat yucky camp food and go on hikes and be free of my parents for a week or more. So it's a dream come true to live this vicariously through my children. My oldest got to go an all week over night camp three years ago and absolutely loved it! This summer it was my middle son's turn. I don't think he slept a wink the night before he was just so excited. Why wouldn't he be? I mean 6 nights and 5 full days away from nagging parents and the added bonus of being away with your 2 best buddies sounds like a blast, right?

As we dropped him off at camp last Sunday, I snapped off many photos but this one was the first. There is something about the look in his eyes that makes me want to just hug him just one more time! Oh sure, it could also mean "Stop it mom you are embarassing me" but I would like to just imagine that he is saying "Goodbye mom. I know you will miss me but I'm going to have fun! When I come back, I will have so many new experiences to share with you and it will be like you were with me." What I can say is that I'm so proud that I can give my children this experience. It's something I know they will never forget.

{A Father's Day Session}

I'm always honored when a returning client asks me to do a family session. In this case, a Father's Day gift and graduation gift for her husband. They decided to go with one of my favorite locations where the light is sweet and the backdrops are glowing just an hour before sunset. There is nothing better than to witness and capture a families love as how I see it behind the lens. These parents absolutely adore their beautiful little girl and you can see it in how they take joy in watching her explore new things. I love that dad was so funny and a willing participant and it was very funny to see that he has passed some of that good humor down to his daughter. As the shoot ended and we were wrapping things up, his daughter made a bee line to the sucker we used as a prop for a few pics. The funny thing was, she had no idea what to do with it and had never even licked the sucker the entire session nor had she in her whole life experienced the taste of a sucker! So when she grabbed it and ran with it we all laughed hysterically! Thanks, P family! Such a true pleasure to capture some sweet moments for you.

{A Farewell Beach Session}

These sweet friends and neighbors are headed back to the East Coast next week. It's been a pleasure having them as neighbors, friends and team mates for the last year. Such a gorgeous family and truly the nicest people you will ever meet. I couldn't think of a better way to send them off than with a fun farewell beach session. I had such a blast with them last night! Thanks, G Family, for being such great sports and come back and see us sometime okay? We will miss you!

{Loads of new things coming...}

I'm back from a great spring break! I feel refreshed having had a chance to do all the things I love so well. Sleeping is at the top! I did get a chance to spend time with my family and plant some pretty flowers. Loads of fun things around here as I get back in the swing of my lil business. I have some great baby sessions coming up and another maternity session that I can't wait to capture. Mommy and me mini sessions at the park are later on this month. {Sweet P. Family}

I'm always tickled when I get a returning client to do a family session. This sweet family was patient enough to wait through my illness. I think it was meant to be because this had to be some of the nicest weather we have had around here in weeks. It was a perfect afternoon to take some sweet fun family pics down by the beach. I loved that they brought their beloved pet "Miss Josie" down with them to be included in some memories. She was the sweetest pooch and so well behaved through our entire session.

{T.G.I.F. Family}

I'm a broken record (sorry but you will hear this a lot)... sometimes the BEST photos are theunposed. Moments captured that give pure essence to families. That is what I love, love, love about these pictures. It was chilly that Friday night at the beach but nothing but warmth oozes out of these photos. This was one of the largest family groups I've done and getting 18 people to the beach is no small feat. Jill- you did an amazing job pulling this together! Family photos are so important and really are something you will treasure for years to come. Thanks for letting me share a little piece of your happiness.
