{T.G.I.F.}

T.G.I.F. It's always a great week for me when I can do what I love to do. Photographed a pregnant friend last week. She has such an amazing story and I can't wait to share those photos on my website/blog soon. I also had the pleasure of a photographing one of the cutest 4 year old girls on the planet! Her blue ice cream dress was so cute and I seriously want a pair of her ladybug rainboots! I also began taking this amazing photography lighting class! Some of you probably already know this, but I am completely self taught when it comes to my photography. I feel like such an ding a ling though when it comes to learning all the technical mumbo jumbo but I feel this class will really pull a lot of things together for me. Still plugging right along with my stationery business. Keep looking for my March/ April specials and {Easter} is coming up soon so stay tuned for what I have in store. Last but not least, I had to say goodbye to my rented 50mm lens {i so loved it...it's definately on my wish list!} but I leave you with some my favorite images.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Feeling Sentimental

Woke at 5 a.m. this morning completely rested. Not my usual Saturday morning feeling. I was anxious to get a cup of joe and resume my latest hobby...blog questing. If as if I don't have enough hobbies right now, right? I've always been one who likes to learn about new technology. For example, I only recently discovered what blogging truly is. I honestlly thought it was something only teachers used to communicate with parents! I know ...I know...what rock have I been under...uh it's called MOTHERHOOD! Anyhow, now that my kids are getting a little older(and in school full time I might add), I have had more time to explore the possibilities of the web. To shorten this up, because I have to get to my real point of this blog post, I am in awe with which people use this blog business. I have seen the most fantastic and creative uses of it from photography, hobbies to business. Recently saw one mother take her posts to create a BLOG book. How cool is that! It has inspired me to do more posting and journaling as I'm doing today. More on my blog obsession later...I am feeling sentimental this morning because all this week, I've been turning my camera on my own boys rather than clients. I also rented a 50mm 1:4 for a week which I'm seriously considering adding to my bag and needed to practice with it. In doing so, I found myself remembering some details of my relationship with my children. I will start with Tobin, my youngest little man. We took our sweet, senior pet, Mickey, for a walk this week and held hands. Now this is something we do all the time but what hit me hard was I forgot about the LOVE SQUEEZES. This is something I've done with all my boys since they were wee tiny. When we hold hands I would squeeze their little hands and tell them that when mommy does this, this means I LOVE YOU. On our little walk, Tobin, squeezed my hand more than I can tell you. We could of kept walking all day as far as I'm concerned. Of course, my tears spilled out and our shaddow caught my eye and gave me some inspiration for the pics I am posting. Part of my weepiness has to do with him being my baby and that I know what happens when they get older, this little detail disappears for a long time. It's so sad but I can't remember the last time my 13 year old held my hand. I have a huge lump in my throat right now...my sweet Tobin... you are my little man, my sensitive boy, my beam of sunshine, my beautiful brown eye boy...stay little for just a while longer for me, K? Love you buddy XOXO, Mommy.

Mia, Fiona and Company

Haven't posted in a while. It's been a wet few weeks here in the Bay. The mood quite gloomy. My boys wanted to do nothing but play on the wii and computer. My hopes to play Monopoly failed. War games won out. Oh well. Had some time to take some pics of these little neighbor munchkins today. They added a little sunshine to my day! I grabbed these huge Gerber daisies last minute before the shoot. The girls quickly named the flowers Mia and Fiona. They were such polite things and eager to help me with all the silly posing I made them do. Little bro came along toward the end and we were able to get a few fun ones to end our session. I do admire their dedicated mom. I do believe she is the first mom I've heard to sing the Big B--- in any of my sessions so far!! J.. you are a riot! BTW, J, the Fart Book had my boys in stitches tonight! We could barely eat our Taco Bell. Yea...I know...TB again! Really, I do cook for my family.

My Little Guy

Spent a beautiful morning taking pictures of my nephew today. It was such a pleasure capturing his curious and sensitive side. I loved the way he carefully handled his ladybug find. We all enjoyed watching the magnificent Monarchs dance among the trees. He is such a lucky boy to have wonderful parents who take the time to show him all that is beautiful.We are so lucky to live here!
I Luv U lots my little guy!

Early Signs

I just love the colors of these cherry blossoms found right outside my front door. It's been so warm here that we are getting this false start of Spring. The colors remind me of my favorite color combo right now. It also reminds me of chocolate and Valentine's Day which is just around the corner! Speaking of which, it's not to late to ask me about my Valentine's Day photo special. A few appointments are still available. Also, I have added a new company to my list of suppliers and proudly welcome PSA essentials! They offer a nice selection of custom stamps and embossers and the best part is that they will drop ship to my customers and there are no minimum orders. Please contact me for ordering details and prices
Thanks for stopping by!

A Pocket Full of Sunshine

This little guy was such a pocket full of sunshine! I laugh to think of what people might of thought of his mom and I as we danced and sung around the room trying to get that perfect shot! Our sweat paid off as you can see. He was such a precious little subject! Oh how I would like to bottle up his energy! I loved the way he was into his Cheerios...too cute! Until next time, little man!

Strawberry Beauty

Spent some time with longtime friends in Strawberry. One of the prettiest places to visit no matter what season. Spent some time with our God daughter. Loved this photo of her and her beautiful mom...her skin is to die for! Beauty is all around there as you can see. My favorite winter photo is the last one of our dear friend Keith and Sofia walking back to the cabin. Captures their relationship so well I think. Can't wait to go back and spend time in the summer there with them. Thanks for the great memories, Keith,Monica, Sofia and Ian! We had a great time!
Luv ya!
